The recent fuel subsidy removal and an increase in the pump price of petrol is tearing Nigerians apart.
While some are in support of the federal government’s action, others are against it and are threatening to go on strike.
As the Nigerian Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress are threatening to embark on a strike against the hike in fuel price, youths in Bauchi state took to the streets on Tuesday morning, May 17, in support of the government’s decision.

The youths are presently staging a peaceful protest in support of the removal of fuel subsidy by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The youths who came out in their numbers were carrying posters, fliers and banners of Buhari in support of subsidy removal.
At the weekend, organised labour and the civil society gave the federal government till midnight on Tuesday to reverse the increase in fuel price or they would embark on an indefinite national strike.
Meanwhile a meeting held on Monday night between the federal government and organized labour on the increase in the pump price of petrol ended in a deadlock and would continue today at 3pm.
