Watch Demi Lovato, Nick Jonas, and James Corden do Carpool Karaoke

Fellow Disney Channel escapees and current touring partners Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas stopped by The Late Late Show Monday night to join James Corden for a little Carpool Karaoke — and to form a band called JCD, named for Jonas Corden Demi ("Not a sexually transmitted infection, a genuine band," Corden clarified).

The trio kicked off their car ride by discussing Lovato and Jonas's soap-operatic 10-year-long friendship history. Lovato, you will recall, dated Jonas’s brother Joe after they both appeared in Camp Rock, the Disney Channel original movie that attempted to cash in on the success of High School Musical. Around the same time, Jonas himself was dating around, wooing both Hannah Montana-era Miley Cyrus and Lovato’s then-BFF Selena Gomez.

"But you two never…?" Corden asked. "Really? Not even a 3 am pause when you looked in each other’s eyes and thought, 'We’re not gonna do this, are we?'"

"No," Lovato and Jonas said in disgusted unison.

For the karaoke itself, they launched into Lovato’s "Heart Attack"(prompting a concerned Corden to ask if she actually knew what the symptoms of a heart attack were), Nick Jonas’s "Chains" ("You gotta bounce," he instructed, as Corden and Lovato apparently chair-danced incorrectly), Lovato’s "Stone Cold" (in which all three of those drama queens were having too much fun on the vocal trills to make jokes), "Cake by the Ocean" by Joe Jonas’s band DNCE ("It’s about SEX," Nick confided in a whisper), and Nick Jonas’s "Close."

But the real show starts at the 9:10 mark, when the trio improvised some a cappella harmonies to Nick Jonas’s "Jealous," creating a blend so sweet Corden proposed they start touring immediately.

So they left the car for their first gig, treating a delighted TMZ tour bus to the sight of Corden drumming on plastic tubs, with Jonas on the guitar and Lovato on vocals for her song "Confident."

Corden may have had a point when he said that JCD sounds vaguely like the name of an obscure STI, but I think this little pop trio just might be the next big thing.
