The federal government has released its summarized version of the 2016 budget.

In its report, the government lays out how much each federal ministry will receive in funding for the next 12 months.

The report illustrated the priories of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration and how your tax money will be used.

Security accounts for much of the 2016 budget expenditure, with the interior ministry and defence ministry occupying first and third slots respectively, illustrating the president’s focus on national integrity.

The other big winners are the various ministries operating Nigeria’s infrastructure, including its energy installations and transport networks, as well as the ministries providing crucial services to the public like healthcare and education.

Feel pity however the the women’s affairs and special duties ministries, which came last in the budgetary stakes, with barely enough financing to make it onto our infographic.
