– Both suspected have been charged with four offences and fave three years in jail if found guilty
Two barbers who alleged stabbed a man named as Sunday Adufe in the eye with a screwdriver have been released by Ikeja magistrates court in Lagos after being granted N250,000 bail each.
The accused, Tanko Wasiu and Buhariyu Sulaimon, were also granted two sureties each in like sum as part of their bail conditions set by the Chief Magistrate, Omolade Awope.
She said the sureties must show evidence of two years tax payment to Lagos state government.
Sunday Adufe shortly after he was stabbed
Wasiu, 33 and Sulaimon, 22, both residents of No. 19, Calvary close, Obawole, Iju in Lagos state, are facing a four-count charge bordering on breach of peace and assault.
The prosecutor, Inspector Ezekiel Ayorinde, told the court that the accused and other delinquents who remain at large committed the offences on April 26 at Obawole Community, Iju-Ishaga, Lagos. He said the accused assaulted Adufe by stabbing his eye and beating him with sticks and cable wires
“Adufe said the trouble started when he went to Wasiu’s wife to ask for the money she borrowed from him in March,” the prosecutor said.

“The accused, then armed themselves with dangerous weapons, took Adufe to a canal near their residence and accused him of having an affair with Wasiu’s wife before beating him.”
Ayorinde said the offence contravened Sections 166, 170, 171 and 244 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
Awope adjourned the case to June 3 for mention. If found guilty the two accused face up to three years in jail.
