Unknown gunmen on Friday evening, May 20, kidnapped Chief Ahmed Aminu Aku, a traditional ruler of Elete community in Ajaokuta local government area of Kogi state, Nigerian Tribune reports.
According to the report, the third class chief was kidnapped at about 8.30pm while returning from Ajaokuta to his community.
It was gathered that Chief Aku was accosted by the gunmen as he was about to enter his home. Seconds after, he was whisked away to an unknown destination.

About 24 hours after he was abducted, the kidnappers were said to have contacted the family and demanded for N10million ransom.
In a related development, an unidentified naval officer who was passing through Kogi state from the South Eastern part of the country to Abuja was abducted the same day.
However, Willam Aya, the police public relations officer could not confirm the abductions.
Chief Aku’s kidnap comes barely a month after unknown gunmen shot dead a traditional ruler in Ejule, Ofu local government area of Kogi state.
Leadership reports that the monarch, Simon Shaibu alias Agige who had been a victim of kidnap over chieftaincy tussle in the community was gunned down while he was holding meeting with some members of his community.
According to the account of eyewitness, the gunmen numbering about five singled out Shaibu where he was holding the meeting and gunned him down.
