Nigeria set to make record as the host of a competition
– A global tournament in Martial Arts will take place in Nigeria, first of its kind in Africa
Nigeria will host the first ever World Martial Arts Championship, a source revealed to NAIJ.com.
The Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC) Corps Marshall, Boboye Opeyemi disclosed that, the event is slated to hold in Lagos from November 21 – 27.
This championship will be hosted by the FRSC who recently entered into a partnership Gamadev Nigeria Limited to ensure a smooth event with proper logistics put in place.
However, this event is the first ever World Martial Arts Championship which will be held in Africa.
When the Local Organising Committee (LOC) visited the FRSC, Godstime Omadevue expressed their delight in organising this tournament. The FRSC in return promised to provide the team with support for traffic control.

Mr. Kabiru Lawal who represented Nigeria at the event added that the FRSC will also train some of its personnel in martial arts and combat sports.
“We are ready to support this special event, we will coordinate the traffic and also train some of the fighters ahead of the tournament,” Lawal said on behalf of the Corps Marshall when the LOC paid him a courtesy call.
Nigerian, Ogaga Jesse, who is a black belt holder in world martial arts is in possession of 267 awards in combat across all competitions globally.
“In addition to the record making events we are organising, we also have the plan the Africa’s first ever martial arts academy in Nigeria,” Omadevue told NAIJ.com sports.
