Nigerian music star Runtown is reportedly battling a tangled situation with his record label Eric Manny Entertainment and things appear to have gotten out of hand, with lawyers getting involved and court injunctions following closely.
Amid several reports of irreconcilable differences between the singer and the label’s management, NAIJ.com sought to get a clearer picture of things from the Lagos To Kampala crooner, but several calls made to his camp today May 31, 2015 were unanswered and messages unreplied.

In the meantime, word on the street is that Eric Manny Entertainment owned by billionaire industrialist Okwudili Umenyiora has gotten a court injunction stopping the singer from any form of performance or recording pending the time their differences are resolved.
On his part, Runtown has spoken out in a letter through his lawyers citing undue extortion, threat to life and zero payments for performances, royalties and more as reasons he opted out of his contract with the label.
Runtown who signed to the music company in 2014 has reportedly returned all assets of the management in his possession in the wake of the drama.
As at the time of filing this report, efforts to reach Bugwu Aneto who doubles as Runtown’s manager as well as the general manager of Eric Manny have all proven abortive.
However, an anonymous source spoke to NAIJ.com saying Eric Manny Entertainment had been unfair to the entertainer all along.
According to our source, the label authorities “had refused to settle the singer when due both for his performances as well as for returns on his caller tunes, after which they threatened to deal with him, all of which ensured he couldn’t speak out about the situation all along.”
We also gathered from another insider that Runtown, in partnership with his manager Bugwu, cut some performance payments due to the label’s management hence prompting the label’s actions.
While we await a detailed reply to our enquiries from Runtown’s camp, read letters from the singer and his attorneys below in response to the ensuing situation:
