MASSOB reacts to killing of policemen by IPOB-led Biafra protesters (photos)
– MASSOB has hinted that the pro-Biafra protest that turned bloody was done by IPOB members
– The two groups are pro-Biafra groups but it seems their ideology differs in the way they operate
– MASSOB said they were only celebrating the Independence of Biafra peacefully
The Movement for the Actualisation for a Sovereign State Of Biafra (MASSOB) has reacted to the news that pro-Biafra agitators attacked policemen deployed to monitor their protest.
The incident happened on Monday, May 30 in the Asaba area of Delta state where it was reported that two policemen were thrown into the Niger River during a face-off with Biafra protesters.

Charles Muka who is the public relations officer in the state confirmed that some MASSOB members were killed during the face-off while some people were injured.
He said: “We had to deploy our officers to ensure that the protest was peaceful but we were surprised that the people turned violent. To our surprise, they started attacking our men and at Okwe Junction in Abraka area of Asaba, the group killed a police corporal and took his AK47 riffle.
“Also along the Dennis Osadeby Way in Asaba, they wounded a police officer and took his anti-riot gun. This group also attacked and wounded two policemen, suspected to be marine police, and threw them into the River Niger at Cable Point in Asaba and in the process one died and one was rescued.
“This brings the casualty number to two with two others injured on the side of the police.”
Mr. Chinedu Anieifeobu who is the Delta North Zonal leader who with his commander of security, Prince Ignatus Adiliajana, and the Delta Central Zonal Leader, Mr. Uju Christian, supervised the inauguration of the new secretariat in Ubulu-Uku, dissociated BIM-MASSOB from the killing of the policemen.
MASSOB hinted that the perpetrators of the crime were from the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) and condemned the way they turned the celebration to violence.
Mr. Emeka Okafor who is the leader of the Delta North administrator said they were out to celebrate the independence of Biafra.

“We are not at war with security agents and we are not armed, but celebrating Biafra state, we congratulate our members in the struggle and wishes the people of Anioma region happy independence.”
Chief Isaac Onwuamaeze on his part said: “We want Biafra state, Buhari -led government has failed Nigerian people, we are tired of Nigeria. The way the Fulani people are killing us as if we are animals, calls for worry.”
In some parts of Anambra state, especially Onitsha, security agents were said to have battled with pro-Biafra agitators. They reportedly shot at the unarmed protesters at a church in Onitsha, stirring uproar in the state.
