The state government on Thursday introduced nucleic acid amplification test (NAT) for screening of blood before transfusion, considered more accurate than conventional methods to detect HIV in blood, at the Capital Hospital. The test was introduced for the first time in the state at VSS Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Burla, on Tuesday.
