Embracing the eco-friendly initiative, Udupi railway station is now using solar energy. Solar panels under solar roof top scheme have been installed at the station and presently generates 7-kW with 28 panels. A total of four panels are used to produce 1-kW power. The total cost of project is Rs 7.1 lakh.
