Chelsea are chasing Roma star who is the only smoker in the squad.

Belgium coach Marc Wilmots has disclosed that Radja Nainggolan is the only smoker in the Belgium squad, and  the national team made special arrangements to allow him to do it.

The coach said: “Yes, Radja smokes. It’s a habit and a lot of people do it in France and Italy. I am not going to stop him if that’s what he needs. I am flexible when it comes to matters like this. It’s his body. I’m fine with it so long as he performs out there on the pitch.”

He added: “I always make sure he gets a room with a balcony, so he does not set off the smoke alarm. I think he is the only one at the Belgium national team who smokes. I reckon he would trash his room if we forbade him to smoke five or six cigarettes per day.”

Wilmots stressed: “It’s his problem if this means he will have to retire at 30 rather than at 35.”

The Belgium international player remains one of Antonio Conte’s top transfer targets and Hazard with Courtois working on persuading him to leave his club behind after Euro 2016.

Nainggolan said that Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois have urged him to join the Blues this summer.

According to The Guardian, Chelsea have seen their opening £23 million bid for Radja Nainggolan rejected by Roma.

The source reported that the centre-back was close to joining the dethroned Premier League champions last year, only for Roma to fail to find a replacement.
