JUST IN: Niger Delta Avengers issue fresh statement, threaten to show the world the truth

The Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) has issued a fresh statement, threatening to show the whole truth to the world.

Brig. Gen Mudoch Agbinibo, the spokesperson of the group, in a short statement made available to NAIJ.com, said ExxonMobile should stop lying.

The group said: “ExxonMobile can deny and fool the general public about their Export Pipeline blown yesterday. How long can they lie to their investors? Just in matter of days the whole world will see the truth.

“Qua Ibe 48” crude oil export pipeline is down so said the Avengers.”

Exxon Mobil Corp said on July 12, Tuesday that no attacks had taken place at its facilities.

This comes hours after the NDA claimed it had blown up the Qua Ibe 48 crude oil export pipeline operated by the company.

“There were no attacks on our facilities,” said Todd Spitler, the spokesman of the oil company.

The Avengers have claimed responsibility for a series of attacks in Nigeria’s southern oil hub.

The militants, whose attacks temporarily pushed Nigeria’s crude production to 30-year lows in spring, have demanded a greater share of the OPEC member’s energy wealth to go to the impoverished southern Niger Delta, the source of most of the country’s oil.

Qua Iboe is Nigeria’s largest crude oil stream and exports usually amount to more than 300,000 barrels per day.
