It could be recalled that on Saturday, July 2, it was reported that top Nigerian music star Dapo Oyebanjo popularly known as D’banj, secretly tied the knot with his girlfriend Lineo Didi Kilgrow in private ceremony.

In an interview with E! VIP, D’banj opened up on his on how his journey into the music industry began, his rumoured relationship with top Nollywood star Genevieve Nnaji, as he addressed many other issues.

On how he broke up with Don Jazzy, D’banj revealed that he and the Mavin record label boss divorced themselves in 2012, saying: “Don Jazzy called me for a meeting in July 2012, and said he is no longer interested and revealed that the other artists wanted to be with him such as Wande Coal, D’Prince and Dr Sid. So that was how we got divorced. I’m sure you all think it’s all a joke but that was what really happened.”

When asked about his rumored relationship with Genevieve Nnaji, D’banj without hesitation disclosed that there was nothing between him and the movie star, that it was just a platonic relationship. In trying to describe the movie star, D’banj disclosed that: “Genevieve is like our own Beyonce.”
