The former owner of a Houston company was sentenced on Thursday to 10 years in prison after admitting that he operated as an unauthorized agent of the Russian government who exported sensitive microelectronics for its military's use. Alexander Fishenko, who pleaded guilty in September to engaging in a scheme that resulted in over $30 million in technology sales, largely to Russian military entities, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Sterling Johnson in Brooklyn. The sentence, which included an order that Fishenko, 50, forfeit over $500,000, was confirmed by the U.S. Justice Department.
