There may be absolute pandemonium in Abuja should Chris Giwa attempt his decision as the NFF president Amaju Pinnick has arranged all plans to welcome the head of the world football governing body.
In a chat with NAIJ.com Sports on Sunday, July 24, Giwa claimed he is the eligible president of the NFF stressing that all arrangements have been put in place to welcome the FIFA supremo and the secretary general Fatima Samoura.
Chris Giwa also added that he is the one that the Nigeria laws recognise courtesy of the court ruling of April 8 2016.
“We are happy that FIFA president is coming to Nigeria, and I have planned with my crew to meet him at the airport when he arrives.
“I am the president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), and it is my duty to welcome the FIFA president, and no one would deprive me of my duty,” Giwa insisted.
In recent times, there had been serious tussle between Chris Giwa and Amaju Pinnick of who controls the NFF, but the latter has spent two years in office.
It would be recalled that both administrators were locked in fierce battle as they struggled for the soul of the NFF after the election in Warri, Delta State on September 30, 2014 which produced the present board.
Consequently, the Confederation of African Football and FIFA recognised the Amaju Pinnick-led board as Giwa’s case was dismissed by the world football governing body and the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS), after he withdrew his case from a Jos court when FIFA threatened to ban Nigeria.
