Shame: Read what two men were caught stealing in Lagos

– Two men were caught for stealing cables of an electricity company 

– Th company’s spokesperson explained how they were apprehended 

Security agents have caught two men for stealing electric cables of Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC), in Apapa area of Lagos.

It was learnt that the duo were arrested because they believe to be among a 12-man syndicate that specializes  in vandalism and theft of public electricity cables in the area.

According to Daily Trust, the head, corporate communication of EEDC, Godwin Idemudia explained in Lagos that luck ran out of the men when they were trying to load about 12 meters of stolen underground armored cable into their vehicle.

He said the vandalized underground armored cables were from vanilla 11kv feeder radiating from Apapa injection substation.

The suspects who were apprehended by security men attached to A-Z petroleum company have been taken to Ebute Meta area command.

Recently, a driver was arrested for stealing his company’s car barely 24 hours after he was hired.

According to reports, the 30-year-old driver identified as Jimoh Taoreed, was arrested in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.

Jimoh, who was employed to distribute ‘pure water’ sachets, reportedly deceived a boy assigned to assist him, asking him to wait while he withdrew money from a bank in another location in Bodija.

He was said to have abandoned the boy and proceeded to drive the vehicle to an unknown location.
