#BudgetPadding: Jibrin arrives EFCC HQ (Photos)

Following his plan to petition all anti-graft and security agencies in Nigeria, the former chairman of the House of Representatives committee on appropriations Abdulmumin Jibrin has arrived the head office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

After spending about two hours at the headquarters of the Department of State Services (DSS), Jibrin on Monday, August 1, arrived the Wuse 2, Abuja headquarters of the EFCC at exactly 2.44 pm.

However on arriving at the EFCC office, journalists were asked to leave the commission’s reception and wait outside the gate of the premises.

One of the commission’s officials said: “Pres people please go outside.”

Having heard this instruction, Jibrin further added: “Please if you are not with my team step outside. Thank you.”

Efforts to reach the spokesperson of the commission, Wilson Uwujaren, on why journalists were barred was futile.

Uwajern did not pick calls put to his phone by our reporter.

Jibrin is presently at the EFCC’s office to meet with the agency’s chairman Ibrahim Magu.

He is expected to submit a petition against Dogara to the EFCC.

Jibrin before now has already submitted two petitions – one at the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission and the Department of State Services.

The former chairman on appropriations, House of Representatives has alleged that Dogara alongside his three-man cabal and nine others illegally added over N40 billion to the 2016 appropriation bill.

He has also expressed his readiness to any form of legal action over his allegations against the speaker Yakubu Dogara.
