NFL Refutes Trump's Claim They Sent Him Letter Complaining About Debate Schedule
On ABC's THIS WEEK on July 31st, Donald Trump told George Stephanopoulos that the NFL sent him a letter complaining about the presidential debate schedule.
Stephanopoulos asked Trump if he was happy with the debate schedule and Trump said, "Well, I'll tell you what I don't like. It's against two NFL games. I got a letter from the NFL saying, "This is ridiculous. Why are the debates against--" 'cause the NFL doesn't wanna go against the debates."
After that comment was reported, the NFL immediately sent out a response to CNN's Brian Stelter saying they never sent Trump a letter.
Top @NFL spokesman tells me: "While we'd obviously wish the debate commission could find another night, we did not send a letter to Trump."

Stelter followed up with that knowledge when he interviewed the new Trump communications man, Jason Miller on Reliable Sources.
Miller was flummoxed when Stelter kept trying to get a response from him about the bogus letter that Trump said he received.
