Film academy re-elects president pushing diversity efforts
LOS ANGELES (AP) — The leadership of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has re-elected as its president a film marketing executive who has pushed for greater diversity within the organization.
Boone Isaacs has led efforts to increase diversity within the academy's membership, especially in the wake of two years of all-white acting Oscars nominees that sparked the #OscarsSoWhite backlash against the ceremony.
