Federal Education Minister Simon Birmingham says he wants "evidence-based" measures to drive improvements in NAPLAN results ("Minister slams test results", August 3). Senator Birmingham says results have flat-lined during the period of the Abbott-Turnbull government despite federal funding having increased by 23.7 per cent.
