IFP supporters wait for Buthelezi

IFP supporters have gathered outside the Buthelezi Traditional Court voting station waiting for their leader Mangosuthu Buthelezi to vote.

Ulundi - Supporters of the IFP have gathered outside the Buthelezi Traditional Court voting station waiting for their leader Mangosuthu Buthelezi to vote.

The traditional court is in Nkonjeni area in Mahlabathini outside Ulundi where Buthelezi is a traditional leader.

IFP supporters looked excited as they sang their party songs and said they were confident that they would retain Ward 9.

Outside the voting station there were also ANC supporters who were optimistic that with the help of NFP supporters, they would be able to take over the ward from the IFP.

The NFP announced to its supporters on Tuesday that they should vote for the ANC to punish the IFP, which is accused of sabotage leading to their party being disqualified from participating in the local polls.

The IEC disqualified the party from participating after it had failed to pay an election registration deposit before the cut-off date.
