#Elections2016: Some observers refused entry in Joburg
IEC presiding officers at the Witkoppen and Diepsloot stations, where there are multiple voting substations in one venue, refused entry to more than two party observers.
|||Johannesburg - There are already problems marring the municipal elections.
IEC presiding officers at the Witkoppen and Diepsloot stations in Johannesburg, where there are multiple voting substations in one venue, refused entry to more than two party observers.
DA candidate Candice Jones told Independent Media parties were allowed two observers per station, therefore 10 in Witkoppen where there were five substations.
“The presiding officers are only allowing two in. We are trying to call in higher authorities at the IEC to rectify this,” she said.
