Jibrin was responding to a statement by Jagaba who was also reacting to the fact that he was indicted in a petition filed against Speaker Yakubu Dogara and some other members of the House.
The petitions were submitted to the various anti-graft agencies as well as the Department of State Service (DSS) by Jibrin, a former chairman of the appropriation committee of the House, who accused Dogara and some others of padding the 2016 budget.
Just back from an invitation by the All Progressives Congress (APC), Jibrin took to Twitter to reply Jagaba.
According to him, Jagaba was scared because he does not know the content of the petition in which he was indicted or the level of indictment against him.

/he resorted to a rehearsal of their usual lines of lies to blackmail and tarnish my image. I therefore wish to state as follows

That Hon Jagaba Adams is obviously panicking even before seeing the allegations I made on him (allegation against him is not what he thinks)

Jagaba had told journalists on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 that Jibrin is not a saint as he lives in a posh personal apartment at the highbrow Maitama District of Abuja.
“Ordinarily, I would have ignored the said publication, but I am compelled to respond for posterity sake.
“Without sounding immodest, my anti-corruption crusade dates back to my first term between 1999 and 2003, when I exposed the plot of the Presidency which attempted to bribe honourable members for the purposes of effecting a leadership change in the House of Representatives.
“As chairman, House committee on anti-corruption then, I exhibited the money meant for that plot on the floor of the House at plenary.
“Again, in 2012, during the scandal that was referred to as ‘FAROUKGATE’, my name was mentioned. However, after thorough investigation by the police and other relevant agencies, I was exonerated and given a clean bill of health,” Jagaba said.
A day after he left as the chairman of the House of Representatives committee on appropriation, Jibrin made some startling revelations about Dogara and other principal officers of the House accusing them of padding the budget.
