“It’s a different level of special for me tonight,” Gwen Stefani told the crowd about two-thirds of the way through her show at the DTE Energy Music Theatre Tuesday night in suburban Detroit. A few seconds later Stefani’s squeezeBlake Shelton strode on stage for a rendition of their hit country duet “Go Ahead and Break My Heart” from Shelton’s latest album, If I’m Honest. Both Shelton and Stefani, as well as the four members of her band, grinned broadly as they worked their way through the song, and the couple gave each other a warm squeeze after they finished, with Stefani going on to finish the 26-song show.
