Ben Carson Tells CNN The Khan Family Should Apologize To Trump
Dr. Ben Carson dropped into CNN between naps to re-ignite the Khan controversy this morning.
Among other things, he thinks it would be just great for the Khans to apologize to Trump for something.
"I don't think it would be harmful if they apologized to him and he apologized to them. But I don't see that happening," Carson said.
When asked by Wolf Blitzer why they should apologize, Carson claimed they had wrongly accused Trump of something, though he declined to state what that something was.
After Blitzer pressed him further, Carson started rambling down a pathway that Orwell would have loved.
"I would say that rather than make this a one-sided issue, why don't we all just say back off a little bit. We have such important issues to deal with, and let's just call a truce. And the best way to call a truce is simply to say 'I'm over that,' 'You're over that,' 'I'm sorry I said this if it offended you,' 'I'm sorry I said that.'"
He continued, "Because that's not our issue. You know our strength as a nation is through unity. It's not through division. Division will destroy us. A house divided against itself cannot stand."
Carson then admonished the audience and the press, saying "That's what we need to be concentrating on, not these peripheral issues that don't mean anything. We just seem to be addicted to things that don't mean anything."
