Malema exposé: #NomvulaLikesEmYoung, Mabala Noise
“Investigate Mabala Noise,” says JuJu, as he gets record label and Mokonyane trending over her “special relationship” with young exec.
|||“If they think I’m talking nonsense, they must sue me!”
This was the bold challenge laid down by EFF leader Julius Malema during a post elections press conference, in which he made damning accusations against Mabala Noise Executive Chair Reggie Nkabinde and Minister of Water Affairs Nomvula Mokonyane .
“Investigate Mabala Noise,” said a fired-up Malema, who claimed that Nkabinde “receives money from Water and Sanitation” and injects it into his music business.
“It’s a scheme, it’s racketeering,” said Malema, who accused Mokonyane of funding Nkabinde’s business. He claimed that the money was used for the new young artists under Nkabinde’s record label to receive R5 million after signing with the company "to go and do the dabbing (a popular hip hop-inspired dance) to the ANC. Five million!"

He alleged that Mokonyane and Nkabinde had a “special relationship”.
Building on the insinuation he was making about Mokonyane, he added: “Nomvula likes them young”.
And just to ensure that we got it right, the EFF tweeted the statement:
#Malema: Nomvula likes them young. All these boys that are working for and with her are young boys. #IECPresser

The naming and shaming didn’t end there.
Malema labelled Nkabinde a “favourite” of Mokonyane’s - but included 36-year-old retired soccer star Jimmy Tau, who last played for Kaizer Chiefs, in that category.

Nkabinde, who is a businessman as well as the treasurer general of the ANC Youth League told Tonight recently that he’s proud of the contribution he’s making to SA’s music industry through his new label.
“The fact that I’m also a politician and a leader of young people in the country through the Youth League – I felt it befitting to use this platform to contribute meaningfully and positively," he said.
The new acts on his roster - who were introuduced with much fanfare last month - are DJ Finzo, Letoya Makhene, Jay Spitter, Gigi Lamayne, Kay Sibiya, Mbali Nkosi, Zakwe, Major League DJs, Khanyi Mbau, PRO, Zola and Nasty C.
Malema also criticised the ANC's use of popular young artists in the entertainment industry during their campaign. Rapper AKA would fall into this category, and has come under much criticism for being a supporter of the ruling party and actively participating in its campaign.
#Malema: they used unconscious rappers who are committed to money. They used artists who are not like Hugh and MaMakeba #IECPresser
