Two held after attempted human head sale

Two men have been arrested for allegedly trying to sell a human head at the Traditional Herb and Medicine Market in Durban.

Durban - Two men have been arrested for the possession of a human head.

They were nabbed trying to sell the head to traditional healers at the Traditional Herb and Medicine Market in Durban's Warwick Junction on Thursday.

A source, who asked not to be named, said that the pair - aged 20 and 24 - wanted R100 to R200 for the head, which was distinguishable as human by the teeth and ears.

Police spokeswoman, Captain Nqobile Gwala, said it had been burned beyond recognition.

They were expected to appear in the Durban Magistrate's Court soon, said Gwala.
