The First Lady Mrs. Aisha Buhari is currently in the US on a 10-day trip. On Thursday, August 4, she visited the George Mason University, Virginia and the United States Institute of Peace. Her visit to the institute was in collaboration with Voice of America.
The First Lady was at the Voice of America offices in Washington DC on Friday, where she met with executives of the radio station. She also gave live interviews in Hausa and English as well as discussed her pet project, the Future Assured Programme.
Mrs Buhari was accompanied on her trip by the wives of the governors of Nassarawa, Kebbi, Borno, Zamfara and Sokoto states and their aides.
While on the trip, there have been controversies over the price of the First Lady’s handbag and her clothes.
