Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo along with other high-raking officials have visited Kano for the 15th Joint Planning Board and National Council on Development meeting on Wednesday.
It was organised by the Ministry of Budget and National Planning in collaboration with Kano state government.
It is designed to offer the state government opportunities to showcase strategies toward the implementation of social and economic development projects in the country.
“The 2016 budget has macro economics policies that will reflate the economy. We are simplifying the ease of doing business and regulating policies to make things easy for entrepreneurs, State governments must also focus on complimenting the federal government’s efforts. The federal government can’t do it alone,” — Minister Udoma said.

“We must also learn to patronise made in Nigeria goods because Nigerians are creative and highly resourceful. At the federal level, we are reforming the procurement process to target locally made goods,” the minister concluded.

Mr Osinbako continued: “The federal executive douncil yesterday approved the medium term sector strategy for the country.” Speaking on petrol subsidies he stressed: “We have so far saved about 1.4 trillion naira as a result of non-payment of petrol subsidies.”
