The Sun reports that the clash involved protesters for and against Governor Muhammad Abubakar.
The protesters against the governor are believed to belong to the caucus led by Yakubu Dogara, speaker of the House of Representatives and the state assembly.
The crisis in the Bauchi APC took a turn for the worst on Friday, August, 19 when Dogara other Bauchi federal lawmakers comprising both the upper and lower chambers of the National Assembly petitioned Chief John Odigie Oyegun, national chairman, over the inability of the governor to pay salaries.
The crisis escalated when supporters of the federal lawmakers learnt that the party’s executives from Bauchi were at the secretariat for a meeting with the APC national leadership.
When the two bands of protesters met, one of the supporters of the governor screamed: “Barrister (Abubakar) is trying, we want Barrister to continue walahi. Sai Barrister.”

In reaction, a one of the protesters against the governor, Galadima Abba Ittas, said the Bauchi state governor, has failed, adding that he cannot pay salaries of workers and is unable to pay pensioners.
Galadima said: “Most of his appointments are PDP members while the APC appointees are been removed. We are calling on the national leadership to act fast by intervening in order to save Bauchi state.”
In another development, former governor of Kano state, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has petitioned President Muhamnadu Buhari, the Senate president, Dr Bukola Saraki and Police Service Commission (PSC) over alleged invasion and sealing off of his office.
In the petition dated August 24 and signed by Aliyu Sani Madaki and Yusuf Bello Suleiman, the former governor alleged that the action was carried out by the state police command at the directive of the state governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
He called on Buhari and the Police IG, Ibrahim K. Idris, to call the state police commissioner to order, in the interest of peace in the state.
