Recession: Saraki, Dogara in trouble as Nigerians call for revolution
Senator Bukola Saraki, Yakubu Dogara and other members of the National Assembly have come under fire from Nigerians following a report by the Economic Confidential that the lawmakers received a total of N6.78 billion as their official salaries and allowances in twelve months.
Nigerians have called on President Buhari to slash the allowances of the National Assembly member.
The report had stated that the bogus allowances included annual salaries, accommodation, vehicle maintenance and fuel, personal assistants, house maintenance, domestic staff, entertainment and utilities allowances.

The report detailed that the senate alone numbering 109 senators allegedly took N1.85 billion under twelve months, while the 360 members of the House of Representatives carted away N4.93 billion!
Reacting to the bogus allowances allocated to the lawmakers, some Nigerians who read the report called on President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately slash the salary of the legislators to save the nation from collapse.
Others demanded that the act of legislation be turned to a part time basis to save fund for the country at this critical time.

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s economic woes continue as the naira dropped three points to trade at an all-time-low of 425 against the United States dollar in black market, today, September 5.
The currency had hit a record low hours of N420 on Wednesday, August 31, after a data released by the National Bureau of Statistics showed that the economy was in recession.
