UNBELIEVABLE number of police officers deployed to Edo for Oba’s coronation
– The Nigeria police is set to deploy no fewer than 5,000 police officer for the coronation ceremony of the new Oba of Benin
– The police officer, the Edo state commissioner of police Haliru Gwandu said would help reduce security risk during the event
– Gwandu said the deployment of the officers was necessitated by the number of dignitaries who would be attending the coronation

The Edo state police command has said it will deploy no fewer than 5,o00 police officers for the forth coming coronation ceremony of the new Oba of Benin kingdom His Royal Highness Eheneden Erediauwa.
The Edo state commissioner of police Haliru Gwandu said the officers will help reduce security risks during the coronation ceremony.
Gwandu said the deployment is due to the number of dignitaries expected to attend the coronation on Thursday, October 20 in Benin, Edo state.
The state government had earlier declared Thursday, October 20, as public holiday.
A statement by the secretary to the state government Julius Ihonvbere said the public holiday has been declared to honour the crown prince of Benin Kingdom.
The coronation of the new Oba of Benin His Royal Highness Eheneden Erediauwa will also take place on Thursday.
Julius said the public holiday would enable the state government and security agencies ensure a hitch free exercise and allow residents of Edo state witness the forth coming coronation.

He also noted that an adjustment of traffic flow has been made for motorists and other road users in the state.
This adjustment he said would take effect from the midnight of October 19.
Some of the affected routes include: Airport Road, Sapele Road, Sakponba and Akpakpava all in Benin.
The crown prince of Benin Kingdom His Royal Highness, Eheneden Erediauwa had on Tuesday, October 18, visited use kingdom in Egor local government area.

During the visit, the crown prince picked a name for the new Oba – a ceremony which makes up as traditional rights and part of the coronation of the new Oba.
Eheneden who arrived Use in the company of his royal entourage received a warm welcome from the crowd at the venue.
He further proceeded to the palace with the Edigin N’Use, Ekpen Kelvin Edigin, where a name was chosen for the new Oba.
Although the name was not disclosed to the public, Eheneden proceeded to Ugbo shrine where he prayed for God’s guidance and protection.
