Nigeria’s Super Eagles have insisted to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) that their match bonuses should be paid in dollars, African Football reports.
According to African Football, a top NFF source revealed that captain Mikel Obi has told the football federation they will no longer receive their bonuses in naira.

The source said: “Mikel has told the NFF leadership they will no longer receive their match bonus in Naira. They want to be paid in Dollars.
“It will now be interesting how the NFF will handle this challenge ahead of the must-win match against Algeria in Uyo next month.”
The national team players were paid N1million each last September after winning their last AFCON qualifying match against Tanzania as the official exchange rate was N200 per dollar against the unofficial price of N470 to the dollar.
The Eagles were to be paid $5,000 each for the Russia 2018 World Cup qualifying win against Zambia in Ndola which the players are yet to receive and the 2013 African Champions are expected to be paid in dollars.
