Army closes in on most wanted militant leader
– Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state says militant leader, Terwase Agwaza, alias Gana, will know no peace until he surrenders
– Ortom warns anyone shielding Gana to stop because security agencies will not spare such a person if found
– The governor commends security agencies for their efforts to apprehend the wanted man
Terwase Agwaza, alias Gana is wanted by security forces for allegedly masterminding the abduction and killing of innocent citizens.
The joint military and police security task force in Benue state have recovered a large cache of ammunition among other items from Gbishe, the country home of wanted militia leader, Terwase Agwaza, alias Gana.

The recovered items include; 10 cartons of high calibre explosives, rocket launchers and hundreds of live ammunition, a power motorbike, military uniforms, helmet, handsets and two sacks of weeds, suspected to be Indian hemp.
Ghana, who was declared wanted in connection with the killing of the senior special assistant to Governor Samuel Ortom on special security, has been in hiding since a N5m bounty was placed on him.
Governor Ortom of Benue state speaking during the display of the recovered items on Tuesday, October 18, noted that security agents were closing in on the wanted man, Vanguard reports.
Ortom said the militia leader, who allegedly had masterminded the abduction and killing of innocent citizens, will not know peace until he surrendered to the police.

“Security agencies will continue to use the stick approach of the amnesty programme to fish out criminals in Benue State and I can assure you that Terwase Agwaza will have no hiding place,” the governor said.
“That is why I am warning anyone shielding him to stop doing so because security agencies will not spare such a person. You can see that the power bike and the explosives we recovered can destroy a bridge; we are closing down on him.”
Governor Ortom commended the Army, Civil Defence, the Department of State Services, DSS, and other security agencies for their efforts to apprehend the wanted man.

Meanwhile a tough militant and leader of the Bakassi Strike Force (BSF) in Cross River state, who goes by the name Benjamin, has given his conditions for the group to stop their activities in their stronghold.
Popularly known as G1, Benjamin, on Monday, October 17, 2016, said his group would continue to fight for the people of Bakassi until the Greentree Agreement is observed by all the parties involved.
Apart from this, he said the military must be withdrawn from Bakassi local government area.
