Market Extra: ETF assets hit a fresh record in the third quarter

At the end of the third quarter, assets invested in ETPs—which includes exchage-traded funds and the smaller category of exchange-traded notes—hit a record of $3.408 trillion, according to ETFGI, an independent research firm.
