AFCON 2017: Algeria to face Senegal, Ivory Coast in easy group (full draws)

The 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) draws have been held in Libreville as Africa’s best 16 teams begin their quest for glory in Gabon.

Defending Champions Cote d’Ivoire are drawn in a relatively easy Group C alongside DR Congo, Morocco and Togo.

The Desert Warriors of Algeria will begin their quest at the tournament against fellow North African rival Tunisia in Group B, which also has Senegal and Zimbabwe.

Hosts Gabon will face Burkina Faso, Cameroon and Guinea Bissau in Group A while Group D comprises Ghana, Mali, Egypt and Uganda.

The Elephants will defend the title they won in 2015 in Equatorial Guinea against 15 other nations in the biggest Africa foot fiesta in 2017 in Gabon.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will not play at the tourney following their 1 – 0 loss to the Pharaohs of Egypt in the second-leg of the qualifiers, following a strike by Ramadan Sobhy.

The Pharaohs has earlier forced the Eagles to a 1 – 1 draw in Kaduna.

The 2017 AFCON tournament will hold in January 2017.
