4 facts about the new Super Eagles coach no one ever told you
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed the appointment of Salisu Yusuf as the head coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
The Kaduna state born tactician is seen by many Nigerians as the ideal man to lead the Eagles given his experience with the job.

Some members of the Super Eagles have hailed the abilities of the tactician with some wishing he could be appointed technical adviser before Gernot Rohr came in.
Here are four things you never knew about Salisu Yusuf;
1. NPFL Experience
Like many of his coaching contemporaries, Yusuf has experience playing in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
As a player, he featured for the likes of Ranchers Bees and El-Kanemi Warriors. His coaching experience started with Nasarawa United in 2002 before a short stint with Lobi Stars.

The 54-year-old won the Nigerian FA Cup in 2003, 2013 with Lobi Stars and Enyimba respectively.
2. Super Eagles experience
He was first appointed a coach with the Super Eagles under Samson Siasia in 2009. He has since been around the Super Eagles coaching crew and is one of the most familiar faces around the squad.
He was also named as an assistant coach under the late Stephen Keshi and was part of the coaching team that led Nigeria to the 2013 AFCON title.

Since July, he has been the head coach of the Super Eagles before his appointment was confirmed on Monday, October 25 . He is set to earn N5m per month.
3. Professional dream to be Super Eagles coach
On numerous occasions, Yusuf stated his desire to be named the head coach and technical adviser of the Super Eagles. He was backed by players, journalists and his colleagues.

Yusuf has now been appointed head coach of the Super Eagles, next up is the technical adviser position currently occupied by Gernot Rohr.
4. He has an 100% win record with the Super Eagles
As interim coach of the Super Eagles, Yusuf oversaw two matches and both were successes. He was in charge for the friendlies against Luxembourg and Mali in May 2016 and his team won both matches.
