C&L's Late Nite Music Club With James Chance And The Contortions

In the much maligned world of musical pigeonholes and sub genres, an originator can find themselves linked and lumped in with bands that are very far off from the the original intent.

James Chance is considered by many as the father of punk funk. Then the next thing you know some goofy groups that have nothing to do him style or ideal wise.

Him and a large chunk of the original Contortions reformed earlier this year and this week have released their first album since 2000. James isn't as in your face or as confrontational as he was in his younger years in the NYC No Wave scene but he's still doing his own twisted take on music that makes you groove.
