Finland Becomes First Country To Ban Compulsory School Subjects

Finland are to become the first country in the world to ban all traditional school subjects from the national curriculum.  Finnish students will no longer have to study subjects such as physics, math, literature, history, or geography. The Finnish eduction system is one of the best in the world, and authorities in the country have decided to continue with their innovation by making one of the boldest changes to date. “There are schools that are teaching in the old-fashioned way which was of benefit in the beginning of the 1900s — but the needs are not the same, and we need something fit for the 21st century,” explained the head of the Department of Education, Marjo Kyllonen.
