American Apparel Files for Bankruptcy, Will Sell Brand

American Apparel filed for chapter 11 again, less than a year after the beleaguered retailer emerged from a previous round of bankruptcy protection. Additionally, Gildan Activewear said it agreed to buy rights related to the retailer’s brand.
