Prison term on weapons charges for ex-cop accused of murder
TULSA, Okla. — A former Oklahoma police officer whose murder trial in the shooting death of his daughter’s boyfriend ended in a hung jury has been sentenced to one year in prison for weapons convictions in the case.
Shannon Kepler was sentenced Monday after a jury convicted him last week on two misdemeanor counts of reckless conduct with a firearm.
Kepler was charged with first-degree murder and two counts of shooting with intent to kill in the 2014 death of 19-year-old Jeremey Lake and shooting of his daughter and Lake’s brother.
