Smith scores 20, New Hampshire holds off American 80-70
WASHINGTON — Jalen Smith led a balanced attack with 20 points and New Hampshire turned back American 80-70 on Tuesday night.
Iba Camara added 16 points, Jordan Reed 12, Daniel Dion 11 and Tanner Leissner 10 for the Wildcats (6-3).
New Hampshire made 12 of 17 3-pointers — the same as its free throw totals — and shot 56 percent from the field (28 of 50). Smith and Reed both had four from long distance.
