British premier, Gulf Arab nations pledge to counter Iran
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — British Prime Minister Theresa May and leaders from six Gulf Arab countries agreed Wednesday to counter Iran’s “destabilizing activities,” a pledge meant to calm nerves following the nuclear deal with world powers.
The decision came at the end of a two-day summit in Bahrain of the Gulf Cooperation Council, a regional bloc of Western-allied countries including the tiny island nation, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
