Brownsburg QB Johnson named 2016 Indiana Mr. Football
INDIANAPOLIS — Brownsburg quarterback Hunter Johnson has been named the 2016 IndyStar Mr. Football.
The Indianapolis Star reported Wednesday (http://indy.st/2gCHTNW ) the 6-foot-4, 200-pound Clemson recruit won the vote to be considered the top senior football in the state by the Indiana Football Coaches Association ratings board over finalists Russ Yeast of Center Grove and Pete Werner of Cathedral.
Johnson was named on 24 ballots. Yeast, a running back and receiver in his senior season, was the runner-up with 11 votes.
