Louisiana-Lafayette surges past New Orleans for 76-71 win
NEW ORLEANS — Jay Wright scored 27 points, including the go-ahead basket with 1:05 remaining then added 3 of 4 foul shots as Louisiana-Lafayette battled past New Orleans 76-71 on Saturday.
Freshman Justin Miller added 11 points and Frank Bartley IV 10 for Louisiana-Lafayette (9-3), which closed on an 8-0 run, while Bryce Washington added 14 rebounds. The Ragin’ Cajuns owned a 44-33 advantage on the boards.
Erik Thomas led New Orleans (4-5) with 19 points and 12 rebounds, his fourth double-double of the season and third in a row.
