Sam Houston State holds off North Texas rally 76-70
HUNTSVILLE, Texas — Chris Galbreath, Jr. scored 16 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as Sam Houston State held off North Texas 76-70 on Saturday night.
North Texas whittled a 10-point Sam Houston lead to 73-70 on a Jeremy Combs layup with 45 seconds to play before John Dewey III and Dakarai Henderson made 3 of 4 foul shots to close it out. Paul Baxter blocked a 3-point shot attempt with 19 seconds left and North Texas missed two more 3s in the closing seconds.
