How Christians, Muslims now party together at nightclubs in Boko Haram's birth place

Nightlife is slowly returning to Maiduguri, Borno state capital, the birthplace of Boko Haram insurgents, MSN reports.
This follows reports that young clubbers go to Hot Bites, a stone’s throw away from the heavily guarded palatial residence of the former state governor Ali Modu Sheriff.
The revellers continue to troop into Hot Bites, the trendiest nightclub in the capital city and once inside, they stay dancing until the checkpoints reopen after dawn.

It was also gathered that Christians and Muslims party together at Hot Bites as indulgent soldiers watch on, taking a break from the rigours of the frontline.
According to Fatima, 18, she wants to move on with her live despite Boko Haram's attack in the North.
"We need to move on.
"Maybe I can find my future husband here," she said with a laugh.
She added: "I live with my grandma, so I can't dress like that, she doesn't even know I came here.
"I changed my clothes on the way."
Also speaking, Hot Bites’ owner Ayo Deji, the people of Borno have suffered too much and have to move on.
He said: "We suffered too much. Young people just want to relax and forget the troubles.
"When Boko Haram was there, they forbid us to listen music. Even on the phone you couldn't listen to music or they shoot you.
"They can launch bombing attacks; I've never stopped listening to music. We, the Nigerians, cannot live without music.”
Boko Haram's violent campaign for a hardline Islamic north has claimed more than 20,000 lives in Nigeria alone and led to more than 2.6 million people to flee their homes.
