Najatu Muhammad who is a human rights activist and former ally to President Muhammadu Buhari has warned that his anti-corruption crusade will be considered false if he fails to sack Babachir Lawal and Abba Kyari who have been accused of corruption.
Lawal who is the secretary to the government of the federation was indicted by the Nigerian Senate’s ad-hoc committee on the Humanitarian crisis in the North East on handing out of fraudulent contracts in the IDP camps in the northeast.

Daily Nigerian reports that in a radio interview, Najatu asked President Buhari to sack Lawal while also claiming there was glaring evidence against Kyari who is the president’s chief of staff.
She insisted that the president’s anti-corruption fight will not be taken serious again if he does not relieve the two of their duties.
She said: “There are a lot of misappropriation in this administration, the president is aware but is yet to take any action.

“The SGF awarded contracts to his company, which he has not resigned from. We thank God that we are now vindicated, and that we were not out to malign anybody.
“I am in the opposition for 35 years, and all I have been doing is fight against injustice and tyranny. Why will I keep mute while there are injustices going on in the land.
“The Prophet has said if you cannot stop the wrong with your hand, do it with your tongue. That’s why I am doing it with my tongue to stop this and call the president to order.

“The corruption in the military is beyond imagination. What the government is accusing and charging Sambo Dasuki with is some thing that the military heads are guilty of today. This government is yet to prosecute them but rather working with them.
“Go and see the corruption in the IDP’s, it is not Babachir alone. The military chiefs too have turned Maiduguri to an ATM, where they withdraw money and become rich.”
