She was going to take a nap on a sofa and fell asleep for 6 months... This is creepy!
At first sight, the 22-years-old girl Beth Goodier doesn’t differ much from the majority of her age-mates. But she sleeps 22 hours a day, or even more. It’s not because she is lazy. Her diagnosis is Kleine-Levin syndrome which is also known as Sleeping Beauty syndrome.
When the girl was 16 years old, she fell asleep and didn’t wake up for 5 months! Beth could get up only for a few minutes to eat something, drink some water and visit the toilet to immediately fall asleep again.
When the girl finally wakes up completely, she hurries to live the full life, because no one knows when she falls asleep again and for how long time.

Kleine-Levin syndrome is a rare and understudied neural disorder. In the majority of cases, it appears for the first time at the pubertal age and lasts for approximately 13 years. Despite the fact that with time the symptoms leave, it is really hard for the ill person to catch up the lost years. As a rule, people who suffer from this disorder, can’t finish school, get education and qualification. That’s why, when they wake up at the age of 30, they lag greatly in social sphere from people of the same age.
There are over 100 people who suffer from this disorder in the UK.
Five years ago, Beth laid on a sofa to have a nap in November and woke up in May!
Beth can sleep for 22 hours or more. During her sleep, she experiences serious personal changes.
Beth leaves her home rarely, and when she goes somewhere, she needs a wheelchair, because she gets tired too quickly.

During the periods of awakening, Beth visits doctors to make sure that she doesn’t have some other serious diseases.
Despite her disease, the girl managed to meet her another half. She got acquainted with Dan three years ago.
Beth's boyfriend is very patient and have come in terms with such lifestyle of his significant other.
Beth has more in common with a cat rather than with the majority of people. Because cats also spend most of their life in the sleep.
The girl's mother got used to the fact that her daughter spends 75% of her life in the sleep.
Now Beth is in one of the long periods of sleeping. She has been sleeping for 2 months already and nothing, including loud music and medications, can wake her up.
Now, the girl is 22 years old, and she hopes that in a few years the disease will leave. Then, she will manage to live the normal life.
