Witness to history: Bangladesh's oldest jail opens to public

Many of Bangladesh's most significant political prisoners have been incarcerated within the walls of the two-century old Dhaka Central Jail. Over the last two centuries, the jail -- the biggest in Bangladesh until it closed -- has been a central stage for much of the country's history. Scores of mutineers were hanged and their bodies left to rot in the 1860s following a rebellion against the British, which became known as the Sepoy Mutiny.
